South Padre Island Fishing ReportsFishing Reports April 2009April 27, 2009 - The wind has been blowing for four days now,( a steady 25-35 mph.) Its been a bumpy boat ride the past few days, but the fish don't care. They still need to eat. Fishing has been good. The east side of the Intercoastal is holding plenty of trout, and farther up the east side in two to three feet of water there are plenty of redfish. The west side is completely blown out from the heavy south east winds. There are fish there too. Look for working birds in the shallow water if you find them there will be small pods of reds and trout under them, but the water looks like chocolate pudding. If the wind ever slows down it should clear up quickly. |
